Title of talk- How omics and bioinformatics are used in the Precision Medicine Lab by Dr. Judy Crabtree

Remarks of talk:-

-History of the human reference genome

-All of Us Research Program – to gather sequencing data

-Rise of targeted therapy – recent FDA approvals for targeted therapies for oncology

-Ways we can collect genomic data

-Precision medicine paradigm shift in the field of medicine

About Speaker-:

Dr. Judy Crabtree, Associate Professor at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, USA

Dr. Crabtree leads a research laboratory at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. The major projects in the laboratory investigate the mechanisms underlying hormonal and endocrine-driven cancers. She employs an integrative approach involving in vivo (mouse and PDX) and cell culture models (including tumorsphere formation) coupled with molecular biology techniques.

Past work has focused on the roles of RBP2 and menin in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumorigenesis, and more recent studies have transitioned to studying ER+ breast cancer chemoresistance in collaboration with Dr. Lucio Miele. Specialties include in vivo mouse model development in tumor biology, genomics, genetics, molecular biology, nuclear receptor biology, epigenetics, endocrine tumor biology, in vivo biology, histology.
