The care of patients with venous thrombosis and its complications, with an emphasis on personalized approaches. Evaluation and management of patients with premature or unexplained arterial vascular disease and the role of novel risk factors in management. Optimization of the quality of acute and chronic administration of anticoagulant medications for treatment and prevention of thrombosis.
Research Interests
• Epidemiological studies to elucidate hypotheses on etiology and pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases (myocardial infarction, stroke, and venous thrombosis).
• The role of the cardiovascular system in determining brain health, in particular the vascular origins of cognitive impairment.
• The role of disorders of coagulation in venous and arterial thrombotic disease, and the prevention and treatment of these disorders.
• Understanding causes of racial disparities in stroke, cognitive impairment and cardiovascular risk factors
