DESCRIPTION:LBRN was established in September 2001 with Biomedical Research Infrastructure Networks (BRIN) funding by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)\, through the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) Grant P20RR016456\, the LBRN is committed to raising the research competitiveness of Louisiana researchers. IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) is the second phase of the BRIN Program when LBRN initially started. Currently\, LBRN is in the third phase with continued funding by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Grant 8P20GM103424 and the Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund. \nThe Louisiana Biomedical Research Network offers a limited number of grants and research programs to which qualified researchers may apply. DESCRIPTION:The Center for Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (CMCB) is hosting a series of 10 seminars with top university scientists\, sponsored by Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)\, Our ninth seminar in the series will feature Dr. Julie Brill via Zoom. \nDr. Brill is a Professor of Molecular Genetics and a Member of the Institute of Medical Science and the Collaborative Developmental Biology Program at University of Toronto. Her seminar is titled\, “PI4P Signaling Drives Membrane Trafficking\, Growth\, and Development in Drosophila.” \nDr. Brill has great interest in studying phosphatidylinositol phosphates in animal development.
