The Center for Health Assessment Research and Translation (CHART) in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware is seeking candidates for a research faculty/research scientist position. Successful candidates will play a major role in conducting outcomes-related research in a college-wide research center at the University of Delaware. The successful candidate will assume roles on currently funded grants related to (1) the development of new Quality-of-Life instruments targeted for individuals with neurological impairments and disabilities (e.g., rehabilitation populations); (2) development of self-management intervention tools to improve a wide range of symptoms following spinal cord injury (SCI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and major extremity trauma and amputation; 3) use of outcomes measurement tools in program evaluation; (4) outcomes assessment in amputee and orthopedic medicine; (5) research designed to improve quality of life following SCI, TBI, traumatic amputation, or other traumatic injury; and (6) the development of new neuropsychological measures including the assessment of cognitive functioning.
Successful candidates will be expected to provide oversight and assistance on a wide range of Center activities. Responsibilities include study coordination, data management/analyses, preparation of findings for publication, and supervision of research assistants. Candidates will participate in the preparation of grant proposals and are expected to prepare their own submissions that are relevant to the mission of CHART.
Qualifications include a record of publishing and preparing/competing for federally funded grants (or the promise of being able to do so), and strong statistical, data management, and writing skills. The successful candidate should have post-doctoral experience in health-related research, tests and measurement, rehabilitation psychology, or neuropsychology. Experience in psychological assessment, patient-reported outcomes, amputee & orthopedic medicine, TBI and/or SCI medicine, virtual reality, psychometrics and test development, and/or item response theory is preferred. Level will be dependent upon experience and accomplishments.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Relocation and start-up funds are available.
