Richard Yanagihara, MD, MPH, Professor

Biography: Dr. Yanagihara earned his medical degree in 1972 from the University of Cincinnati and his MPH degree in 1985 from Johns Hopkins University, School of Hygiene and Public Health. He did his first 2 years of Pediatric Residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center.
He went on to complete a research fellowship at the NIH Laboratory of Central Nervous System Studies before completing his third year in Pediatric Residency at the University of California at San Francisco. He then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
He is also working as Principal Investigator of Pacific Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases Research, Hawaii.
