Dr. Jane Reckelhoff is currently professor and chair of the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology and director of the Women’s Health Research Center at UMMC. She received a BS degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, VA, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond.

Dr. Jane Reckelhoff also worked as a critical care nurse for 11 years prior to completing her BS and Ph.D. degrees. She did a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. George DeMartino at Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and another one with Dr. Chris Baylis at West Virginia University in Morgantown, before coming to the University of Mississippi Medical Center as an assistant professor in physiology.

She is also working as Principal Investigator of the Mississippi Center of Excellence in Perinatal Research.
